One day at a time...

Tuesday was better than Monday and Wednesday was better than Tuesday; I believe there is some algebraic formula saying that Thursday will be even better…we’ll have to call Benji for a ruling.

Today I returned to the hospital around Noon and Dom had his lime green rubber band situated around his feet doing arm curls. The physical therapist brought one up for Dom to workout with; if he can rehab physically for 3hrs a day he can stay in the hospital while he goes through radiation. I don’t think 3hrs a day will be an issue with him, do you?

We’ve had the occupational, physical and speech therapist all in here working with Dom this week. He’s such a competitor that when they walk into the room he completes their tasks as though they were made for first graders (no offense to any first graders reading this). He took very small steps to the front door of his room, with the aide from a walker, and then was able to rest for an hour in a standard chair today. The things we get excited for.

The results of the TP (aka spinal tap) all came back negative…for those of you like me; negative in the medical world is a good thing. There are no cancerous proteins in the spine at this time. So we know right now what we are fighting – new cancer in the brain and we know what the first plan of action is – 20 treatments of radiation. 19 to go after today.

I wanted to give a big virtual hug for those loving messages that have been emailed/voicemailed/texted/posted/spoken/created/etc. The Ambriz all know you are behind them, waiting to help, sending prayers and completely invested in Dom’s fight. A special thanks to those who have helped out with dinners this week helping save valuable time and money – Jessica, Wendy, Matt & Herbie…you are all so special.
I will let you know what Thursday brings. I’m hoping Dom can start to keep his food down personally; I know the boy likes to eat. He’s still not communicating, but that will come. Thanks again everyone & as always we will continue to Bring It to this disease.

Thanks for the updates, Marshall. It helps to visualize what it is we are praying for for Dom. I hope you are staying strong yourself.

Dom and Ambriz Family,
Just got back from being overseas for two weeks to hear the news. Guess it's time for Dom to once again prove that he's the damn toughest SOB alive and kick the ass of another challenger. I'm back in LA late Sunday night, so I'll stop by with wings or whatever else you need whenever you need it, just let me know. Until then, you have prayers streaming from my family in AZ and Tania's family in Atlanta.
Stay strong!
Craig
