I’m back…not really with the news I was hoping to share with you though. After my latest entry, I was able to have two conversations with Scoob & Don, both sleep deprived, from a long night at Cedars. Dom was moved in the middle of the night to ICU; his breathing had become dangerously irregular & the oxygen levels forced them to move him. Jane, Don & Scoob were there all night, and still this afternoon.
I can tell the frustration of new obstacles continuing to arise are starting to add up on everyone, especially Dom. Right now, he remains in ICU, hooked up to a ventilator, feeding tube, etc. They have run so many tests and taking so much from him, that we all just wish for a day/night of calmness.
The word is Dom is still alert and even a little defiant to a pesky nurse (the first one that we haven’t just loved). The doctors informed the family that generally speaking when a patient is going through radiation with a certain steroid Dom is taking, the tumors tend to swell before they recede and this could be the case & a slight answer to some of his problems. Still no word on the infection as to where or why its here and his temp remains north of 100. Dom needs (deserves) to catch a break.
I wanted to give Scoob, Don & Jane the biggest love in the world for all they’ve done. If you have contact with them, send them a note of support to keep their energy up. Once I get more, especially when he clears ICU, I will shoot another entry out.
